Cheerful Abstract
by Georgia Henry

Acrylic on canvas; 16 x 20 in.

After finishing a few children's portraits, the last of which was quite challenging, I needed an emotional release. This abstract took me into that euphoric state many artists experience when art is flowing and endorphins are released. One does not think about food, sleep, or one's surroundings. The world seems to just have gone by. This was the result of my great escape.

GEORGIA HENRY is a poet by avocation, but has been a professional artist for over 25 years, and has been painting and sketching from an early age. She sold her first painting, a pastel of President John F. Kennedy, just after his assassination. She was 16 and made $300. She has since sold many commissioned portraits, but occassionally paints other subjects with acrylic.
