Literary Venting
by Jason Valentine
Gleefully glowing and
Thumbing through thesauruses
The protagonist is
Cheerfully chanting the curses
Candor, Fidelity and Integrity to his
Leprous limbs.
Nowhere can there be this much.
In such a rush to pop his spine.
Pretzels and beer or cheese and wine?
Asphalt farmer.
Bottle top laughter
This space for rent.
To agree without dissent.
Climbing inside the radio on warm summer day.
Capitalizing on the lack of static playing.
Ball and string, Ball and string.
Comfort is just a thing, in the corner of the house.
Soup with a friend; Steak alone.
14 years, 14 minutes.
A chance to grab life by the collar and whisper like a vagrant wind,
Follow me!
