Bree T. Donovan

Bree has worked as a proposal writer for various nonprofit organizations, a social service provider, and a teacher of music and creative writing. She received her B.A. in psychology and religion from Rutgers–Camden, where she enjoyed her educational experience immensely.

In early 2008 she published a YA book about the legendary runner and Olympian Steve Prefontaine, or “Pre.” She worked alongside Pre's family, friends, and coaches to present a motivational story for today’s young people, and with the help of Pre's sister established a fund (with book royalties) for physical education and music programs at Blossom Gulch Elementary School in Coos Bay, Oregon, Pre’s hometown. The Oaklyn, NJ, school district named her “Author of the Year” for her inspirational book.

Bree has published several short stories, including two as the only American writer in a German anthology. Her fairy tale based on Pre (a sequel of sorts to “BallyGlen's Gift”) is available at Drollerie Press as part of a YA anthology called StereoOpticon. All royalties go to the Prefontaine Memorial Committee.
